This summer the Brookfield Zoo had a very special "Dinosaurs Alive!" exhibit. With multiple dino lovers living in this house you can only imagine how excited the Martins were to check it out. On the way there we were entertained with the chatter of the kids discussing what kinds of dinosaurs they thought they would see and whether or not they would move, roar, or bite them (this was Nicholas' concern). Upon entering the zoo we headed straight to the exhibit and by-passed every zoo animal in our path to get there. After all, we weren't there to see zebras and elephants that day...we were there to see dinos!! Jenna didn't know where to go first. She would run/bounce ahead and come back and to inform us what kind of dinosaur was next (and was right every time). She's constantly reading a dinosaur book of some sort so we weren't surprised that she knew every species out there. We went through the whole thing once which took us about 45 minutes. But wait, one time is not enough! We then walked back through the whole thing to the beginning....and then went through it all again!! The exhibit got rave reviews from the Martin children and we've been back twice to visit our prehistoric friends. I'm sure we'll go again soon. We picked a good year to get a membership to the zoo!
I thought this sign was pretty funny.
Look out, Rissa!

As if this if wasn't enough excitement, we also spent a day at the Field Museum in Chicago. Uncle Jeremy and Aunty Sarah, the ones who started the dinosaur obsession in our house, wanted to take the kids down to see the real dinosaur skeletons.

Jenna insisted on wearing her dino t-shirt and had her outfit ready to go the night before. Just so that you know, she's wearing her special dinosaur underwear, too.

Look again....these are the kids souvenirs. They're itty bitty teeny weeny dinosaurs that they bought from the gift shop. They named them "Sassy", "Matt", and "Bob".
